When there’s a chill in the air — which is a common occurrence as the last days of December transition into January to bring the promise of a new year — there are few better ways to warm up than by joining friends and family members around a bonfire. And on the Grand Strand during this year’s waning days, one local business is offering a great way to make a cozy conversation around the fire sound even more appealing — by adding wine.

On Saturday, December 29 — the Saturday just before New Year’s Eve — Little River’s La Belle Amie Vineyard will host its New Year Bonfire event, providing a perfect way to warm your spirits on the final weekend before 2019 arrives. The event is part of a series of special “Admission Saturdays,” when live music or other special features presented at La Belle Amie warrant a small entry fee. (For those looking to save a bit on the price of admission, the winery offers $2 off entry for guests who bring two canned/dry good food items for the area food bank.)

Here’s a quick rundown of the schedule for the remaining Admission Saturdays set to be held in 2018 at La Belle Amie:

Nov. 10 — Oldies Saturday Bonfire ($5)

Nov. 17 — WineStock ($8)

Nov. 24 — Holiday Spirits Bonfire ($5)

Dec. 1 — Oldies Saturday Bonfire ($5)

Dec. 8 — An Afternoon of Holiday Tunes ($7)

Dec. 15 — Oldies Saturday Bonfire ($5)

Dec. 22 — Yuletide Music & Bonfire ($5)

Dec. 29 — New Year Bonfire ($5)

Found on a 38-acre farm in Little River — located about 20 minutes north of The Strand Resort — La Belle Amie is a small, family owned and operated winery that produces 20-plus wine varieties ranging from reds and whites to dessert wines. Those looking to sample the wines can try six different types for a small fee of $6, then take bottles home with them to enjoy later or to give as gifts. An on-site gift shop offers wine accessories, salsas, sauces and more. The winery also regularly hosts other fun events, such as its Wine Wednesdays, Throwback Thursdays and Wine Down Fridays.
