Thrill rides, moving theaters, restaurants and gift shops can all be found along the Grand Strand’s renowned Boardwalk. Located in the heart of Myrtle Beach, the Boardwalk runs 1.2 miles from the 2nd Avenue Pier to the 14th Avenue Pier and features all kinds of attractions and activities for everyone in the family to enjoy. And, just a short stroll from the Strand Resort, it is the perfect place to take the family for a full day or evening!

Start your adventure off by trying one of the thrilling rides along the Boardwalk. Fly high through the sky with Myrtle Beach Zipline Adventures, located just inland from the Boardwalk. Soar at speeds of up to 40 miles per hour while racing friends and family and taking in the scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Along with the attraction’s 600-foot racing lines, check out the Freefall Express if you are feeling super adventurous. Take the leap of faith as you free-fall for 60 feet before coming to a stop just above the ground!

A bit farther north, you may want to check out the Myrtle Beach Thrill Rides, which include the Sling Shot, the Skyscraper and the Air Strike. All of these rides are sure to cause extreme sensations as you are flipped, flung and spun through the Carolina sky. Whether you are being whipped in every direction, reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour while flying 300 feet into the sky or completing 360s, you will definitely leave with a profound sense of adrenaline running through your body.

After working up an appetite by checking out some of Myrtle Beach’s fastest and most fun rides, stop in one of the many delicious and friendly restaurants that line the Boardwalk. Depending on what you’re in the mood for, you can check out the pier restaurants at either end of the Boardwalk, visit the various bars and pubs, grab a slice of pizza and a scoop of ice cream, or enjoy a meal under Myrtle Beach’s SkyWheel at the LandShark Bar & Grill.

If thrill rides aren't really for you, or if you are just looking for a nice way to unwind and enjoy the ocean views, hop on the SkyWheel and enjoy a few slow ascents into the sky while taking in the breathtaking scenery. If you happen to catch a glimpse of the SkyWheel in the evening, be sure to have a camera in hand so you can snap a picture and capture the light show that colors the sky.

To end your day of thrill-seeking adventures, good food and a peaceful ride through the sky, don’t forget to stop into one of the many gift shops that line the Boardwalk to show your friends and family back home that you didn’t forget about them while soaking up the sun along the Grand Strand. There are plenty of options to choose from, including shops such as the Gay Dolphin Gift Cove, which has been around for years. And if you still just haven't quite done enough while spending your day along the Boardwalk, drop in and play some games in the arcade, adventure into one of the 4-D moving theaters or scare yourself with a visit to one of the haunted houses before heading back to your boutique resort accommodations at The Strand.
