There are plenty of places to go to find fun, shopping, and dining in Myrtle Beach. But there’s only one Broadway at the Beach. It’s pretty much a fun and entertainment smorgasbord—on steroids.  And best yet, it’s located just a mile from Breakers Resort. If you haven’t been to Broadway at the Beach before … well … it’s hard to know where to begin. It’s more than just an outdoor mall. Perhaps it’s best to dip your toe in the water by just wandering in and walking around. There’s great people watching, especially in the summer. You can start by feeding the fish, or if the water is really appealing, you can just take a jet boat ride—you won’t believe the tricks this jet boat can do. And if thrilling rides (or, if you’d prefer, mellower kiddie rides) are your thing, there’s also Pavilion Nostalgia Park & Carousel Park, where you can ride a wide array of attractions, including tea cups, motorcycles and a pirate ship, frog hopper and more. Broadway is also home to theatrical entertainment, including the Palace Theatre, where you can catch Hot Jersey Nights, a night of great music and nostalgia celebrating the hits of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, or the amazing live magic and dance showcase Illusions of Magic. And if all that fun has worked up an appetite, you’d really better get a bite to eat. Fortunately, Broadway at the beach has more than 20 restaurants from which to choose. Seriously. Pizza to burgers to barbecue to Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville, Broadway has a huge selection of restaurants and almost as many snack shops, from shave ice to fudge to ice cream, ice cream, and ice cream. One other thing about Broadway you won’t want to miss is the fireworks. You can see the famous Myrtle Beach fireworks show Tuesday and Friday nights at 10 p.m. all throughout the summer season, as well as on many holidays throughout the year. So, we’re really not sure what you’re waiting for. Make your plans to visit Myrtle Beach now, and make sure Broadway at the Beach is on your agenda.   Published 6/24/13
