Go Down to Myrtle Beach for Fall Festivals

Cooler weather brings out cool festivals in Myrtle Beach.

As the summer rush dies down and folks get back to school, there are plenty of reasons to make it to the Grand Strand. This region has a tradition of incredible fall festivals. From North Myrtle to the South Strand, for foodies, families, and fun, this is the place to be.

Here’s a guide to some of the can’t-miss events this autumn here.

The Change of Season Brings Fun Fall Festivals

Is a Grand Strand trip on your horizon for autumn? Keep these dates in mind when planning your escape.

Myrtle Beach Fall Jerk Fest

Who: A celebration of African and Taíno cultures. Enjoy jerk-style food, retail vendors, and family activities. 

When and where: Oct. 2, noon-10 p.m., Broadway Street.

Recommended: Enjoy the festival in the heart of Myrtle Beach. Or, if you’re 21 and older, take the exclusive Wine Walk. Tickets are $20 to sample six wines.

Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival

Who: Musicians such as Phil Denny, Dee Lucas, Gino Rosario, and more. They’ll converge for a weekend of culture, food, and music.

When and where: Oct. 14-16, historic Carver Street.

Recommended: Come for all three days — admission is free. Artists are still joining the schedule.

Surfside Beach Family Festival

Who: Families, local and visiting, who enjoy arts and crafts, festival foods, and more. There will be activities for children.

When and where: Oct. 4, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Surfside Beach

Recommended: Spend the day at this FREE family event. There will also be two stages of live entertainment.

2022 Myrtle Beach Greek Festival

Who: The Saint John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church community will host a full festival. The past two years have been drive-thru events only.

When and where: Oct. 13-16, Saint John Greek Orthodox Church. Check the festival website for daily hours.

Recommended: Take a church tour while you’re there. Admission is $2 for adults, and FREE for kids 10 and younger. Take the shuttle service from Captain George’s Seafood Buffet for the easiest route.
