Get ready for an exciting day filled with adventure and a little bit of exercise. While on vacation in Myrtle Beach, get out and explore some of the wildlife along the wetlands, riverbanks, and forests. You can do all of this on Saturday, March 25, at the Battle of the Paddle. You get to kayak for a total of 9 miles along the Waccamaw River, soaking up some sun and taking in some of the Grand Strand’s best kept secrets within the inland. Whether you decide that you want to go all out and compete for a prize or just enjoy a relaxing trip with your family, it will be a day you will not forget.

Check in will start at 8:00 am and the race will begin promptly at 10:00am. Awards will be given in women’s, men’s, and tandem divisions. The classes will be split by boat length starting at 14 foot and below. If you don’t have room to bring a kayak down or if you simply do not own a kayak, no worries, you can rent one for $10 at the race. Your kayak rental includes the kayak, a paddle, and a life jacket. The race itself costs a small fee of just $25.00. This fee provides you with a t-shirt and post race celebration meal, no matter how fast or slow you choose to paddle. The race is for ages 18 and older, but if you have some young ones with you, they can paddle in your kayak with you!
