What should I do on cold days in Myrtle Beach?

News flash: it’s not always sunny and warm in Myrtle Beach.

But – it’s still Myrtle Beach. We could think of a thousand places we’d pick a chilly day here over. With about 220 sunny days a year, you’re bound to be on The Grand Strand on a day it might not be so idyllic.

Lucky for you (and all those millions of travelers who point their cars to Myrtle Beach annually), there’s plenty else to do than soak up the rays.

We’ve rounded up a few ideas for what to do when the temps drop a bit in Myrtle Beach. Some of it happens indoors, and some, outside, with a little bundling up. Whether it’s as simple as a walk on the beach, or a great indoor attraction in the must-see department, it’s all here.

Why Myrtle Beach in the winter?

No matter what the weather, Myrtle Beach is a prime vacation spot. Snowbirds, those winter travelers from chillier climates, migrate to the Carolina shore in winter. The off-season mild weather sure beats snow-pummeled places north. Beaches aren’t as crowded, and tee times a bit easier to nail down in the winter.
