Labor Day weekend is approaching fast, and so is the fall festival season in Myrtle Beach. The end of the busy tourist season culminates in a wide variety of special events in September, October, and November, and The Strand is the place to stay for a fun fall getaway.

Located on the oceanfront in downtown Myrtle Beach, The Strand is only walking distance to the fun and festivities at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and a short drive to the popular shopping, dining and entertainment complex Broadway at the Beach, where most of the events are held. You can relax in luxury at The Strand and be minutes from all the fun.

Broadway at the Beach is the scene of several events this fall, beginning with the Fifth Annual Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine and Spirits Festival. Restaurants and bars from all over the Grand Strand compete in cooking and bartending contests of skill, and patrons get to sample their fare for the price of a $15 ticket. Other Broadway festivals this autumn include the Oct. 3 Fifth Annual Grand Strand Mustang Stampede & Ford Car Show, and the Oct. 15 Cruisin' the Beach Festival.

On the Boardwalk, the Marketplace Arts & Crafts Festival welcomes vendors and shoppers to the main plaza for the first-ever event on Labor Day Weekend. Oktoberfest gets the good times rolling on the Boulevard on Oct. 10-11. German food, music and beer are the stars of this event, which also includes a Kids Zone play area, live music on the main stage and even a roving polka band.

The Myrtle Beach Convention Center, which is only a short walk from the resort, hosts a few events, highlighted by the 32nd Annual Taste of the Town. Market Common, the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk and downtown North Myrtle Beach are also popular sites for festivals this fall.
